Alabar is a Spanish word that means, “to praise”. I remember this one specific Spanish waiter who served us after we just spent 3 weeks crossing the Atlantic Ocean. He was an older gentleman, who when you looked at him, you could sense that he has had an amazing life, simply by the natural smile that he had. His hospitality, although just for a brief moment in my life, made a bunch of smelly sailors feel like kings and queens as we celebrated our crossing under the canopy of his restaurant. To such people as well as to his memory, I play this song “to praise” those who humble themselves in such service unto others.

His musical style was first influenced around 2003-2004 in Puerto Nuevo, Mexico where a duet known as "Latcho and Andrea".
